A Step-By-Step Guide to Bidding through CherrystoneLIVE

CherrystoneLIVE is a proprietary interactive web bidding system which allows bidders to participate in our auctions live as the sales are taking place. It puts you on the auction floor, live and in real-time. Using CherrystoneLIVE is fast and easy, and requires a few simple steps before you begin.

Prior to using CherrystoneLIVE for the first time, you must register your intention to bid "live" in our upcoming sale. Once registered, you will be sent an "approval" e-mail, stating that you may bid live during any sale, and you will be given a link to the auction which you can click to enter at the appropriate time. You may also access the live auction by clicking on the CherrystoneLIVE link on the toolbar, or by going to live.cherrystoneauctions.com. If you do not already have a Cherrystone website account you will have to set one up by clicking the "Create New Account" link which will both setup your account and register you for the upcoming sale.

Please note that you no longer have to register separately for each auction. Once registered and approved you have general access to all Cherrystone sales.

When you access the live auction you will be prompted for your last name and password. You will then be prompted to select a "nickname" which can be changed from auction to auction or even from session to session. This will protect your anonymity as other live internet bidders will be able to see your "nickname" as you place bids. You then click "set name and enter auction" to begin.

Once you have entered the sale you can bid on lots by clicking "Make Bid" in the yellow box below the description. When your bid has been placed you will see a green "Bid Submitted Successfully" message. The box will default to the next bidding increment. You may enter any amount manually in this box should you wish to "jump" the bids.

If you need to communicate an erroneous bid to the floor at any time please type a message in the "message box" above the bid box and click "send message". This message will only be seen by Cherrystone.

The high bidder is displayed in green in the upper right hand corner. When the lot is knocked down, it will say "Sold to X" in green above the message box. There will be a timer counting down until the lot is "knocked down".

You may view your bidding history (i.e., any lot you placed an internet bid on) by clicking on the "Bidding History" link at the upper-right of the screen. This will open in a new window, allowing you to continue viewing the sale.

You may logout at any time by clicking the icon in the upper-right hand corner.
